Congregation B'nai Israel dedicated its synagogue at 62nd and Aberdeen on Sept. 18, 1892. The Chicago Tribune reported on the dedication the following day. The congregation was also known as First Englewood. It is last listed in the Chicago telephone book in 1947-1948.
