There are three ways you can search ChicagoAncestors.org.

1) Search by clicking on the map.

2) Search by address. To search by address, enter a street address or intersection in the address box. Then select a radius for your search. Options are in half mile increments from .5 to 3 miles. The default is .5 miles. Click on the Search button.

3) Search by keyword. Enter a keyword such as the name of a location, an ethnicity, denomination, etc. The search will include tags as well as the text used in the description of the location. Click on the Search button.

The search results are displayed in the column on the left. They are sorted by collection within category. Expand each category to see the individual results. Note that the categories are color-coded.

To view the information about a particular map location, click on the icon on the map or on the entry in the results list. An information window will open in the lower left corner of the screen.
